The agents@0.33.0 release updates Cloudflare's Agents SDK to support Pi 1.5 ( ~1.5.0 ), dropping support for Pi 1.4. Storage performance is significantly optimized: streamed answers and tool outputs are now batched (flushed at least every second), reducing SQLite storage writes by roughly 27x for long responses and 5.7x for parallel tool turns, with a trade-off that crashes may lose up to one second of streamed output. Scheduler overhead is also reduced, scaling multi-session execution on SQLite from 88 to 459 runs/sec across 2,048 sessions. Large streamed payloads now append rather than copy buffers, avoiding prior CPU and memory spikes. Breaking changes and migrations apply to Pi harness users. Pi 1.5 updates the data format, meaning conversations run on 1.5 cannot be read by 1.4, preventing rollback. APIs have changed: session.events() is replaced by session.watch() (with session.entries() for paging), retry() and parked statuses are replaced by session.continue() and explicit task interruption, and schemas must move from TypeBox export via pi-ai to @earendil-works/pi-schema . Additionally, onReport callback signatures and event names ( storage failed , task interrupted ) have been restructured.

• Upgrade Pi dependencies to ~1.5.0 ( @earendil-works/pi-durable , pi-ai , chord ) and install @earendil-works/pi-schema .
• Do not attempt to roll back deployments to Pi 1.4 once running on Pi 1.5, as storage is forward-only compatible.
• Replace session.events() calls with session.watch() , and use session.entries() to paginate older transcript entries.
• Migrate tool definitions to use @earendil-works/pi-schema (or import Type directly from typebox ), noting that obj() rejects undeclared properties unless { open: true } is specified.
